Playing four songs from his new release, Postmark, Frank Gayer Martin finished third as a finalist in the Troubadour Contest of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Over 600 entries were pared down to ten finalists to compete this year in Telluride. Nels Andrews won the event. Martin was the only finalist from Colorado in a field that ranged from Austin, Nashville and New York.
In August, 2006, Martin also finished 8th in the Songwriter's Showcase at the Rocky Mountain Folk Festival. The 2006 contest had nearly 900 entries.
Martin has lived and performed in the Roaring Fork Valley since 1981. In 2002, Martin finished fourth in the Songwriters Showcase at the Rocky Mountain Folk Festival performing songs from his first CD, In the Slanting Light.
