Frank Gayer Martin

Frank Gayer Martin News

Super busy winter. I've been playing lap steel, mandolin and guitar with All the Pretty Horses. My country itch gets scratched in a major way. Singer Olivia Pevec fronts a five-peice band with a repertoire of originals mixed with classic country and country-rock tunes.

I plug in the red Stratocaster and work the whammy bar playing with Steve Skinner and The Stimulus Package. It gets way rocking, but there's also some twangy country, funky hip-hop and even a rhumba in the mix. Steve is a creative-madman-genius with 18 albums recorded. Louie Giardot and Captain X make one the best rhythm sections I've played with.

For the second year, I played guitar with the Symphony in Valley for their annual Swing Show. Big fun, lots of cool chords and arrangements of big band classics and jazz standards.

Lately, my Yellow Dog Dingo trio has been working up new tunes and playing out. It's always a special treat to play with my friends and artists, Doug Whitney on bass and Aaron Taylor or Dan Rosenthal on drums.

This summer I'll also be out with Sue Krehbiel and The Sirens. Watch the calendar!
